What are the key issues facing jazz? What part do you think Jazz Yorkshire should play?

Jazz Yorkshire was set up with support from the Arts Council to celebrate and develop jazz in the region. It works with promoters, musicians and educators to develop diverse audiences by improving access to jazz in the region.
The board of Jazz Yorkshire is looking to appoint a small number of directors to contribute to the formulation and implementation of Jazz Yorkshire’s vision. This will be achieved by the board members applying their experience and understanding of jazz working with other board members in the operation of the board and one or more of its sub-committees. It may also require some individual input to the board on specific issues.
Board members are expected to attend 4 board meetings a year and in contributing actively to other aspects of Jazz Yorkshire’s work could expect to be involved for 4 to 6 hours per month.
In addition to a love of jazz board members are likely to have experience in one of the following areas: Jazz performance, education, arts development and promotion, business, and commerce.
If you are interested in undertaking this stimulating and enjoyable voluntary role please contact Nigel Slee, Development Manager, Jazz Yorkshire.
